Materials

These pieces are made with a combination of materials which may include: resin, pigments, mica powders, nickel-free metal ear hooks (silver, and/or gold-plated), quality metal findings, glass beads, chains, and natural stones. We use a non-toxic, environmentally conscious resin. We try to source sustainable semi-precious stones whenever possible and in some designs enjoy up-cycling vintage chain and beads.

Eco-Resin

We use Pebeo bio-based resin. It is a non-toxic bio-sourced resin that offers a safer and more environmentally friendly alternative to standard resins. Eco-resin is a term for renewable and non-toxic resins made from plants. We use silicon cups and stir sticks when mixing and pouring resin which can be re-used over and over again and practice safe responsible disposal of any waste. Once resin cures it is non-toxic and safe against skin.

Care

Fingerprints and residue can be removed by gently rubbing jewelry with a soft microfiber cloth. If one desires a deeper clean rubbing alcohol is safe to use on resin. If your silver or gold metal pieces become tarnished a gentle rub with a metal polishing cloth will bring back their shine.

Materials can always be adapted or substituted for those who may have allergies to certain metals. Just let us know!

What goes into making each piece unique?

Faith and Rhia Jewelry is painting and sculpture on a small scale. Each of the jewelry pieces we make is an original, one-of-a-kind creation. Our creative process and intentions when making artistic decisions in the studio reflect a serious investigation into color, texture, transparency, and opacity. We infuse our knowledge of fine art history, contemporary art, and use influences such as phenomena in nature to make each individual piece. We consider and honor fashion and our world’s community of artists when working.
